Michael Fratini, Conspiracy to Produce Child Pornography, New York 2022

Buffalo, NY – In a shocking turn of events, a local postal worker has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to produce child pornography, leaving the community reeling in shock.

36-year-old Michael Fratini, a resident of Dunkirk, NY, was taken into custody on March 18, 2022, after a sting operation led by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation Task Force.

According to the complaint, Fratini used his cellular telephone to solicit nude photos and videos of the pre-pubescent daughters of a female acquaintance, whom he met in October 2021 through a dating application.

The investigation revealed that Fratini had a ‘mother/daughter fantasy’ and sent a text message to the acquaintance asking for videos and/or pictures of her daughters to fulfill his fantasies.

Fratini appeared at a detention hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and was ordered detained.

The charge of conspiracy to produce child pornography carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango is handling the case.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff John Garcia, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Task Force, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Stephen Belongia, led the investigation.
