Adam James Rollins, Methamphetamine Sales, Iowa 2023
A man from Mason City, Iowa, has been sentenced to over three years in federal prison for violating his supervised release by selling methamphetamine.
Adam James Rollins, age 43, received the prison term after a revocation hearing on May 8, 2023. He was found to have violated his third term of supervised release, which began on May 6, 2022. Rollins used and eventually sold methamphetamine again, violating the conditions of his release.
This is not the first time Rollins has been in trouble with the law. His supervised release had previously been revoked in April 2019 and September 2021. He was originally sentenced in January 2010 to 10 years in prison and 8 years of supervised release for conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine in the Mason City area. Rollins also had a previous conviction for a felony drug offense in April 2005.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jack Lammers and investigated by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office and the Algona Police Department.
United States District Court Judge Linda R. Reade sentenced Rollins to 40 months’ imprisonment in Cedar Rapids. There is no parole in the federal system.
