Methamphetamine Sales Land Iowa Man in Federal Prison

Adam James Rollins, a 43-year-old man from Mason City, Iowa, has been sentenced to three years and four months in federal prison for selling methamphetamine despite being on supervised release. On May 8, 2023, Rollins appeared before United States District Court Judge Linda R. Reade in Cedar Rapids, where he was found guilty of violating the conditions of his third term of supervised release.

According to court records, Rollins had previously been convicted of conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine in the Mason City area and had served 10 years in prison followed by 8 years of supervised release. His supervised release had been revoked twice before, in April 2019 and September 2021, for similar offenses.

The case against Rollins was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jack Lammers and investigated by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office and the Algona Police Department. Rollins’ supervised release had begun on May 6, 2022, but he was found to have used and sold methamphetamine again, leading to the revocation of his release.

Rollins’ previous conviction for a felony drug offense dates back to April 2005. His original sentence was handed down in January 2010. There is no parole in the federal system, and Rollins will be held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison to serve his 40-month sentence.
