Adolph Brown, Cocaine Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2015
An Ohio man has been sentenced to 17.5 years in prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation that spanned the Midwest and Pennsylvania.
Adolph Brown, 48, a former resident of Akron, Ohio, was sentenced by United States District Judge Reggie B. Walton in federal court in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Brown was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, following a bench trial on July 9, 2018.
According to evidence presented at trial, Brown traveled from Akron to Farrell, Pennsylvania, on March 2, 2015, to complete a sale of approximately 722 grams of cocaine. During a traffic stop, law enforcement officers discovered the cocaine concealed inside a children’s car seat in the back seat of the vehicle in which Brown was traveling.
Brown subsequently provided a voluntary statement, admitting that the cocaine was his and that he was on his way to sell the cocaine to a customer in Farrell.
At the time of the offense, Brown was awaiting sentencing in Summit County, Ohio, following his guilty plea to state heroin and cocaine trafficking charges.
Assistant United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation leading the investigation that led to Brown's prosecution. The Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office also assisted in the case.
The sentencing of Adolph Brown serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat cocaine trafficking in the region and the severe consequences that come with it.
