Adrian Baldwin, Armed Commercial Robbery, Maryland 2012

Published January 26, 2015

In a brazen heist, Adrian Baldwin, 28, of Washington, DC, and his co-conspirators stole over $270,000 from an armored truck on November 21, 2012, in Hyattsville, Maryland.

According to the plea agreement, Baldwin conspired with Damione Lewis, Delacey Brown, Taurian Miller, and others to rob the armored truck, which serviced a bank branch in the 3400 block of Kenilworth Avenue.

As part of the conspiracy, Baldwin was recruited to participate in the robbery, in exchange for sharing in the proceeds of the robbery. On the day of the robbery, an armored car employee picked up $272,956.17 from the bank, which was later divided among the conspirators.

Baldwin and his co-conspirators approached the employee brandishing firearms, took the money bags to the vans, and drove away. The robbery proceeds were later divided between the conspirators, with part of Baldwin's share being used to purchase a 2002 Ford Explorer, which he must forfeit as part of his plea agreement.

Baldwin faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Chief U.S. District Judge Deborah K. Chasanow has scheduled sentencing for November 10, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.

Three other co-conspirators, Damione Lewis, Delacey Kinte Brown, and Taurian Devon Miller, have also pleaded guilty to their roles in the robbery and are awaiting sentencing.

United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein praised the FBI and Prince George's County Police Department for their work in the investigation and thanked Assistant U.S. Attorneys William D. Moomau and Bryan E. Foreman for prosecuting the case.
