A 61-year-old Arizona man has been sentenced to life in prison for attempting to entice two minors for sex in West Virginia, according to federal authorities.

Alan J. Disomma Jr., of Payson, Arizona, was found guilty of two counts of attempted enticement of a minor and one count of traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual activity. A federal jury delivered the verdict on February 23, 2024, following a two-day trial.

Disomma's conviction stems from a two-year online conversation with a woman in West Virginia, whom he believed to be the mother of two minor girls. He expressed his desire to engage in sexual relations with both girls and even discussed traveling to West Virginia to meet them.

Disomma's messages to the woman, who was actually a law enforcement agent, revealed his interest in having the woman and her daughters move to Arizona to live with him. He also confessed to previously engaging in sexual relations with a prepubescent girl and subjecting her to bestiality.

On December 18, 2022, Disomma flew from Arizona to Charleston, West Virginia, where he intended to meet the woman and engage in sexual activity with the minor girls. However, he was arrested by law enforcement officers upon his arrival.

Disomma was sentenced to life in prison for each of the two counts of attempted enticement of a minor and to a concurrent 30-year term for traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual activity. The Court also imposed a lifetime of supervised release.

This case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia and the Federal Bureau of Investigation's West Virginia Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Task Force investigated the case.
