Alex They Maya-Dimas, Transporting Illegal Aliens, Kansas 2023

A Mexican citizen, Alex They Maya-Dimas, pleaded guilty to transporting 11 illegal immigrants from Arizona to Kansas City in a federal court.

Maya-Dimas, 37, was driving a 2002 GMC Yukon when a Ford County deputy stopped him. The 10 other occupants of the vehicle were Mexican citizens who were in the United States illegally.

According to the plea agreement, Maya-Dimas drove the 11 individuals from Arizona to Kansas City through Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The guilty plea was made on Monday in a federal court in Wichita, Kansas. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Lind.

Maya-Dimas faces up to five years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. He is set to be sentenced on January 24.

U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister commended the Ford County Sheriff's Office, Homeland Security Investigations for their work on the case.
