Alexis Nicole Davis, Fentanyl Possession, West Virginia 2024

In a shocking turn of events, a Charleston woman has pleaded guilty to fentanyl possession, a crime that has plagued the nation for years. Alexis Nicole Davis, 26, of Charleston, West Virginia, was arrested on June 21, 2023 for possessing 10 grams of fentanyl with the intent to distribute it to others.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Davis arranged to sell the fentanyl at a Charleston gas station. However, she recognized the would-be buyer was a confidential informant and the sale was not conducted. After Davis left the gas station, law enforcement officers stopped her and found the fentanyl in her purse. Davis admitted that she possessed the fentanyl and intended to distribute it to others.

Davis is scheduled to be sentenced on July 25, 2024 and faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine.

United States Attorney Will Thompson commended the investigative work of the Charleston Police Department-Special Enforcement Unit, who played a crucial role in the arrest and prosecution of Davis.
