Child Pornography Offenses Land Solon Man Behind Bars

In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Alfredo Alexander Lujan, a 43-year-old Solon man, has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in the Receipt and Possession of Child Pornography.

On June 30, 2021, United States District Court Judge Stephanie M. Rose handed down the sentence, which includes 144 months in prison. Lujan will also serve a five-year term of supervised release, pay $200.00 to the Crime Victims’ Fund, and pay a $5,000.00 special assessment as part of the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.

According to court documents, Lujan was identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as having traded child pornography with an individual in North Carolina. Further investigation revealed that Lujan had sent links containing child pornography via the KIK application to another individual. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Lujan’s residence and seized multiple electronic devices.

Lujan admitted to receiving and possessing child pornography, with nearly 200 images and videos depicting child pornography being found on his devices. On February 19, 2021, Lujan pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him.

Acting U.S. Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement regarding Lujan’s sentence.

The FBI investigated the case, and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa prosecuted it as part of the U.S. government’s “Project Safe Childhood” initiative, which aims to reduce the incidence of sexual exploitation of children nationwide.
