Allen Christopher Morton, Heroin Distribution, Virginia 2016

Alexandria, VA - A notorious heroin dealer from Washington, D.C. has been brought to justice, sentenced to 10 years in prison for his crimes.

Allen Christopher Morton, 53, was sentenced today to 120 months in prison for distributing heroin and for possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking activity.

The sentencing comes after Morton pleaded guilty on August 5, 2016. According to court documents, Morton was the leader of a three-man crew that distributed gram quantities of heroin for several years near Morton's residence in Washington, D.C.

Customers would drive to Morton's residence and wait for Morton or another member of his crew to come outside and sell heroin. Morton and his crew would also drive to other locations in Washington, D.C. and Virginia to meet customers and distribute heroin.

On some occasions, Morton or other members of his crew were armed with handguns. Over the course of the conspiracy, Morton's crew distributed between 700 grams and 1 kilogram of heroin.

Colder, Special Agent in Charge for the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Washington Field Division, made the announcement after sentencing by U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis, III. Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Tyler McGaughey prosecuted the case.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and the DEA Washington Field Division commend the work of the law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation and prosecution of this case.
