Felon in Possession of a Firearm Lands 51-Month Sentence in Alabama Federal Court

Allen Malcolm Stienke, 35, of Robertsdale, Alabama, was sentenced to 51 months imprisonment for Felon in Possession of a Firearm in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama.

According to court documents, Stienke was pulled over by the Elberta police for displaying a switched tag on his vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed four guns, including three pistols and a revolver, as well as several items described as burglary tools.

Stienke has a prior felony conviction for Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance in Baldwin County Circuit Court, which made him a prohibited possessor of firearms.

The case was investigated by the Elberta Police Department, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell prosecuted the case in the United States Attorney’s Office.

United States District Court Judge Callie V. S. Granade imposed the sentence, which includes three years of supervised release. During his supervision, Stienke will undergo treatment for drug and alcohol abuse. He was also ordered to pay $100 in special mandatory assessments.

Stienke pleaded guilty to the charge in September 2018.
