A chilling case of workplace violence has come to light in Kansas, as a former cruise line service representative admitted to threatening a customer over the phone.
WICHITA, KAN. – Allison C. Dixon, 32, of Wichita, Kan. pleaded guilty today to one count of transmitting a threatening communication, a crime that could land her behind bars for up to five years and cost her a hefty fine of up to $250,000. The sentencing is set for April 10.
The incident in question took place in April 2018, when Dixon worked for Celebrity Cruise Line as a customer service representative in a call center in Wichita. A dissatisfied customer in Illinois hung up on her, prompting Dixon to make a disturbing phone call back to the customer just three minutes later.
Dixon allegedly told the customer she knew where they lived and intended to come to Illinois and kill the customer and their family. The FBI and Assistant U.S. Attorney Lanny Welch were instrumental in bringing this case to justice, and U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister commended their efforts.
As a result of her guilty plea, Dixon faces a lengthy prison sentence and a substantial fine. The full extent of her punishment will be determined at the sentencing hearing on April 10.
