In a shocking turn of events, a federal jury in Greenville, South Carolina, has found Alvin Andrae Drummond, 41, guilty of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a person who had been convicted of both a felony and a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. During the search, deputies found 8 people, including Drummond, and discovered a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver, 23 additional rounds of ammunition, and Drummond's wage paperwork.

Drummond denied knowledge of the gun, but a forensic expert later identified a fingerprint on the cylinder of the Smith & Wesson revolver as belonging to Drummond. The evidence presented at trial established that Drummond was in possession of the firearm and ammunition.

U.S. Attorney Beth Drake commended the partnership between local, state, and federal agencies that led to the adoption of the case. The 'Real Time' initiative has resulted in the expedited federal prosecution of over 120 defendants and the seizure of over 165 firearms and assorted ammunition from prohibited persons in the Upstate.
