Amir Kalomo Mulamba, Production of Child Pornography, South Dakota 2021

A Sioux Falls man has been charged with a serious crime that could have far-reaching consequences for the community.

Amir Kalomo Mulamba, a 26-year-old resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has been indicted for Production of Child Pornography.

According to the indictment, Mulamba allegedly employed, used, persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced a minor female to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions of such conduct between May 30, 2021, and June 25, 2021.

The maximum penalty upon conviction is up to 30 years in federal prison and/or a $250,000 fine, life of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.

Mulamba appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on April 19, 2022, and pled not guilty to the Indictment.

The investigation is being conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Salt Lake City, Utah, Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Clapper is prosecuting the case.

Mulamba was released on bond pending trial, which has not been set.
