Amy Hall, Wire Fraud, Kentucky 2023
A Shelbyville woman has been charged with seven counts of wire fraud after allegedly stealing over $260,000 from her employer.
According to the indictment, Amy Hall, 37, stole the funds between December 2019 and September 2021 while serving as the Accounting Controller for a local design and construction company.
As accountant, Hall had access to the company's credit card and bank account. She allegedly used this access to devise and execute a scheme to steal the company's funds for her own use and the use of others.
Hall made her initial court appearance on September 8, 2023, before a U.S. Magistrate Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
If convicted, Hall faces a maximum sentence of 140 years in prison. However, a federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors.
There is no parole in the federal system. The United States Secret Service is continuing to investigate the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Elver is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
An indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
