Morgantown Man Sentenced for Cocaine Trafficking
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A local man has been sentenced to prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking operation in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Andre J. Anderson, 34, of Morgantown, West Virginia, was sentenced to one year and one day in prison for cocaine trafficking, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.
An investigation by the Mon Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force revealed that Anderson sold nearly 500 grams of cocaine in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Anderson pled guilty in January 2015 to one count of “Distribution of Cocaine.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parr prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided over the sentencing hearing, which took place at the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia in Clarksburg.
Anderson’s sentence marks the end of a lengthy investigation into his cocaine trafficking activities in Morgantown.
The investigation by the Mon Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force was a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies in the region.
