Andre Johnson, Illegally Possessing and Selling Firearms, Connecticut 2019

Andre Johnson, also known as 'Cuzz Crip' and 'Cuzzy Blue,' has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for illegally possessing and selling firearms.

Johnson, 31, of New Haven, Connecticut, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport on Thursday. According to court documents and statements made in court, law enforcement made three controlled purchases of firearms from Johnson.

During the third purchase, on February 28, 2019, Johnson sold a Taurus model PT 24/7 Pro DS 9mm, a loaded extended magazine and a loaded standard magazine in exchange for $900.

Johnson's criminal history includes state felony convictions for illegal possession of an assault weapon and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Johnson has been detained since his arrest on April 11, 2019. On July 31, 2019, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

This matter was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, New Haven Police Department and Connecticut Department of Correction. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Peter D. Markle and Jocelyn Courtney Kaoutzanis.

This prosecution has been brought through Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make neighborhoods safer for everyone.

Johnson, whose real name is Andre Johnson, is to serve 46 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release.
