Preston County woman admits to methamphetamine charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – A local woman has admitted to a serious drug charge, according to United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.
Angela Dawn Yuchek, a 32-year-old resident of Tunnelton, West Virginia, pleaded guilty today to one count of ‘Distribution of Methamphetamine’.
The offense allegedly occurred in March 2019 in Preston County. Yuchek faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000.
Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The investigation was led by the Potomac Highlands Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.
The task force consists of the FBI, West Virginia State Police, Mineral County Sheriff’s Office, Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, and the Keyser Police Department.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the hearing.
Yuchek’s guilty plea marks a significant development in the ongoing battle against methamphetamine distribution in the region.
The investigation and prosecution of this case demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to protecting the community from the dangers of illegal drugs.
Yuchek will be sentenced at a later date. The exact date has not been announced.
