Rapid City Man Charged with Aggravated Sexual Abuse at Ellsworth Air Force Base
A Rapid City man has been charged with aggravated sexual abuse at Ellsworth Air Force Base, leaving a trail of nonconsensual sexual acts that shocked the community. Anthony Joseph Terentino, Jr., a 44-year-old resident of Rapid City, South Dakota, was indicted by a federal grand jury for Aggravated Sexual Abuse and two counts of Abusive Sexual Contact.
The maximum penalty upon conviction is any term of imprisonment up to life in a federal prison, and/or a $250,000 fine, up to life of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
The charges relate to Terentino engaging in nonconsensual sexual acts with a female at Ellsworth Air Force Base between December 2018 and May 2019. The investigation is being conducted by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Heather Sazama is prosecuting the case.
Terentino pleaded not guilty to the Indictment and was released on bond pending trial. A trial date has been set for December 15, 2020.
The charges are merely accusations and Terentino is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
