Anthony L. Taylor Sentenced for Gun Charge in Nebraska
Omaha, NE - A local man has been sentenced to federal prison for being in possession of a firearm as a convicted addict.
34-year-old Anthony L. Taylor was sentenced to 30 months' imprisonment by Chief United States District Court Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. after being found guilty of being an addict in possession of a firearm.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in neighborhoods across the country.
On April 10, 2020, a confidential source working for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive purchased a Taurus handgun and THC vape cartridges from Taylor at the 40th block of Curtis Avenue in Omaha.
Taylor, who was a regular user of illegal drugs, including marijuana, at the time, was prohibited from being in possession of a firearm or ammunition.
After his release from federal prison, Taylor will begin a 3-year term of supervised release.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive and the Omaha Police Department.
