Child Pornography Arrest Rocks Pennsylvania Community

A disturbing arrest was made in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, when 24-year-old Anthony P. Mason, Jr. of Northern Cambria, Pa. pleaded guilty to charges of possession of child pornography.

According to court documents, Mason knowingly possessed pictures and videos in individual computer graphic files which were produced using prepubescent minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The computer graphic files were shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.

The case was investigated by the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr. is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

Anthony P. Mason, Jr. is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both. Sentencing is scheduled for December 12, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and to identify and rescue victims.
