Antiganee Triplet, Social Security Disability Fraud, Oklahoma 2013
Oklahoma City woman Antiganee Triplet, 39, has been sentenced to serve five years of probation and pay $13,155.51 in restitution for defrauding the Social Security Administration (SSA) to receive disability benefits to which she was not entitled, announced Sanford C. Coats, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.
Triplet claimed she was disabled and received SSA disability benefits from January of 2009 through January 2012. However, court records and information from the plea and sentencing hearings revealed that she was working and earning income at several jobs during this time period.
Triplet was charged on January 8, 2013, with illegally receiving Social Security disability benefits she was not entitled to receive. She pled guilty on January 23, 2013, to this crime.
According to the court, Triplet was not truthful with the SSA about her employment status. This was a clear abuse of the system and a violation of the public's trust.
The Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General conducted the investigation that led to Triplet's sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amanda Maxfield Green prosecuted the case.
As a result of her actions, Triplet will serve five years of probation and pay $13,155.51 in restitution to the SSA. This is a significant consequence for her actions, and it should serve as a warning to others who might consider defrauding the SSA.
In Oklahoma City, the Western District of Oklahoma takes cases like this very seriously. The U.S. Attorney's Office is committed to protecting the integrity of the Social Security system and holding accountable those who seek to exploit it.
