SCRANTON - A pair of Wilkes-Barre men have been charged with drug trafficking offenses, according to a recent indictment.

Antoine Montgomery, 34, and Jamal Jenkins, 35, both of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, were indicted on November 21, 2023, by a federal grand jury for conspiracy and possession and distribution of fentanyl.

The indictment alleges that Montgomery and Jenkins conspired to distribute fentanyl since December of 2022, and possessed fentanyl on November 17, 2023, with the intent to distribute the narcotic in Luzerne County.

The case was investigated by the Wilkes-Barre City Police, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the DEA. Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd K. Hinkley is prosecuting the case.

This case was brought as part of a district-wide initiative to combat the nationwide epidemic regarding the use and distribution of heroin.
