Arnold Clayton, Distribution of Cocaine and Cocaine Base, Florida 2012

A notorious drug dealer has been brought to justice in Florida.

Jacksonville, Florida – Arnold Clayton, a 42-year-old Sanderson resident, pleaded guilty to distribution of cocaine and cocaine base.

According to the plea agreement, on July 13, 2012, Clayton sold cocaine, cocaine base, and marijuana to a confidential source for $320.

Court records reveal that Clayton has two prior federal drug convictions, one for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and cocaine base in 1999 and another for distribution of cocaine base in 2007.

The case was investigated by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Assistant United States Attorney Frank Talbot is prosecuting the case.

Clayton faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison, but no sentencing date has been set yet.

The guilty plea is a significant blow to the local drug trade, and law enforcement officials are hailing it as a major victory.
