Billy Ray Shamblin, II, Distribution of Methamphetamine, West Virginia 2020

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA - A Randolph County man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for selling illegal substances.

Billy Ray Shamblin, II, 37, was sentenced to the lengthy term after admitting to selling methamphetamine in Randolph County in February 2020.

Shamblin pleaded guilty to one count of 'Distribution of Methamphetamine' in September 2021. The highly addictive substance is also known as 'crystal meth' and 'ice'.

The case against Shamblin was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner on behalf of the government. The Mountain Region Drug Task Force investigated.

U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the sentencing hearing.

Shamblin's lengthy prison sentence serves as a stark reminder of the serious consequences for those who engage in illicit activities such as methamphetamine distribution.
