Bradley J. Schrott, Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material, Pennsylvania 2025

Published March 7, 2025

A former resident of Ambridge, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to a shocking crime that threatens the safety of children in our community. Bradley J. Schrott, 42, admitted to possessing material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor in federal court on March 6, 2025.

The disturbing case unfolded when investigators discovered a video showing the sexual abuse of a prepubescent minor on February 17, 2023. Schrott was already on supervised release at the time, having been sentenced to 30 months of imprisonment for the same offense in the past.

The court was advised that Schrott's actions constituted a serious offense that warranted severe punishment. Under the federal Sentencing Guidelines, the defendant could face a total sentence of not less than 10 years and up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both.

The law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, worked tirelessly to bring Schrott to justice. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Carolyn J. Bloch on behalf of the government.

As part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse, Schrott's prosecution serves as a reminder of the importance of holding perpetrators accountable. The project, launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice, aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and identify and rescue victims.

Sentencing for Schrott is scheduled for June 3, 2025. In the meantime, the court has ordered him to remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals. This case highlights the need for continued vigilance in protecting our children from exploitation and abuse.
