Child Neglect Rocks Muskogee Family
A disturbing case of child neglect has come to light in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where a 24-year-old man has pleaded guilty to charges of Child Neglect In Indian Country.
Brandon Edward Bridges, a resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, was accused of willfully and maliciously failing to provide his children, JS1, JS2, JS3, AS, BB1, and BB2, with adequate food, clothing, shelter, sanitation, and hygiene, as well as appropriate care and supervision.
Bridges was also accused of exposing his children to the use and possession of illegal drugs and illegal activities, despite being responsible for their health, safety, and welfare.
According to the indictment, the alleged neglect occurred on or about December 7, 2019, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Indian Country.
The investigation into the case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Assistant United States Attorney Jarrod Leaman represented the United States at the plea hearing.
Bridges faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a fine of up to $5,000.00, or both.
