Robbery Plagues Zuni Community: Brandon Jim, 35, of Zuni, New Mexico, and Timothy Boone, 27, also of Zuni, were recently sentenced for their involvement in a robbery that shook the Zuni Pueblo.

On January 26, 2023, Brandon Jim was sentenced to 11 years in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for robbery and aiding and abetting in Indian Country. This sentence was handed down in federal court in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The crime, which occurred on an unspecified date, involved the use of a gun and a knife to rob a minor. The victim, a 14-year-old boy, had his belongings taken by threat of violence. The stolen items included two cell phones, a fishing rod, a tackle box, a sweatshirt, and .22 caliber ammunition.

The Gallup office of the FBI investigated this case with assistance from the Zuni Police Department. Elisa Dimas, Assistant U.S. Attorney, prosecuted the case.

Co-defendant Timothy Boone, 27, was sentenced on July 16, 2020, to 10 years in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for the same crime. Boone pleaded guilty on July 18, 2019, while Jim pleaded guilty on March 4, 2020.

Both men are members of the Zuni Pueblo and admitted to using a gun and a knife to rob the minor in their plea agreements. The crime was committed near Eustace Lake on the Zuni Pueblo.
