In the dark underbelly of the nation’s capital, a Maryland man has been indicted for his alleged role in a sex trafficking ring that spanned multiple states. Brandon Sartor, 33, of Hyattsville, Maryland, is accused of forcing two adult women to engage in commercial sex acts in Miami and elsewhere for his financial gain between December 2024 and April 2025.
According to court documents, Sartor used a combination of force, fraud, and coercion to control the women, compelling them to perform sex acts in exchange for money. The indictment also alleges that Sartor transported the victims across state lines with the intention that they engage in prostitution.
The indictment, which was returned by a federal grand jury in the Southern District of Florida on May 12, 2026, charges Sartor with six counts, including sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, using a facility of interstate commerce to facilitate a prostitution business enterprise, and transporting individuals across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
If convicted, Sartor faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison, along with mandatory restitution. The case is being investigated by the FBI Miami and the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland.
Assistant Attorney General A. Tysen Duva of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida announced the indictment. Trial Attorney Elizabeth Hutson of the Criminal Division’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit is handling the case.
The indictment serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of sex trafficking on its victims and the need for continued efforts to combat this heinous crime. As the investigation unfolds, one thing is clear: Brandon Sartor will face the full weight of the law for his alleged crimes.
