Published April 29, 2016

A New Orleans woman has been sentenced to prison for her role in a local gang's string of home invasion robberies targeting drug dealers.

According to court documents, Bridget Marie Miles, 47, conspired with and provided information to members of a local New Orleans gang led by Gregory Denson. Denson used the information provided by Miles to commit home invasion robberies of drug dealers in an effort to make money and/or obtain illegal drugs for later retail sale.

The gang members also conspired to use, possess, and discharge firearms to further their drug trafficking activity and commit acts of violence against other drug dealers to obtain drugs and drug proceeds.

Miles pleaded guilty to a one-count Superseding Bill of Information for Misprision of a Felony, Hobbs Act robbery. On March 13, 2024, U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier sentenced Miles to serve 21 months in prison, to be followed by one year of supervised release.

Miles was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Orleans Police Department's Multi-Agency Gang Unit. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael M. Simpson and Michael E. McMahon.

The case highlights the ongoing problem of gang-related violence and crime in New Orleans. The city has seen a rise in gang-related activity in recent years, with many cases involving the use of firearms and violence to further drug trafficking operations.

The sentencing of Miles is a significant development in the ongoing effort to combat gang violence in New Orleans. It serves as a reminder that those who engage in this type of activity will be held accountable and face serious consequences.
