Brooks Case, Methamphetamine Distribution, Idaho 2020
BOISE, Idaho - A Star, Idaho, man was sentenced to five years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
Brooks Case, 33, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to five years in federal prison for distribution of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis announced today. U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also ordered Case serve four years of supervised release following his prison sentence.
A federal jury found Case guilty of the charge on June 4, 2020.
Case was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 13, 2019. His charge stemmed from an investigation into the West Side Loma gang that spanned from October 2018 to October 2019. While law enforcement conducted a controlled buy of methamphetamine from a member of the gang in April 2019, Case arrived and provided the methamphetamine to the gang member.
Case has a lengthy history of criminal convictions and violations of probation.
The case was investigated by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crime Task Force, which includes federal, state, and local agencies.
The indictment was the result of a joint investigation by the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), a federal multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional task force that supplies supplemental federal funding to federal and state agencies.
This case was prosecuted by the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney hired by the Treasure Valley Partnership and the State of Idaho to address gang crimes.
The Treasure Valley Partnership is comprised of a group of elected officials in southwest Idaho dedicated to regional coordination, cooperation, and collaboration on creating coherent regional growth.
