Bryan Larson, Child Pornography Possession, Massachusetts 2015

In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Bryan Larson, 43, a Level 2 sex offender from Douglas, Massachusetts, has been charged with possession of child pornography. The crime was uncovered on June 12, 2015, during a federal search warrant of Larson's residence.

According to authorities, the search warrant was issued after an individual residing in Larson's residence attempted to receive child pornography in late May and early June 2015. The information triggered a search of Larson's home, where multiple video files and images depicting child pornography were discovered.

Larson fled from law enforcement during the search, but turned himself in on June 14th. He is currently in federal custody and is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Worcester on June 22nd for a detention and probable cause hearing.

The charging statute provides for a minimum mandatory sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years, followed by a minimum of five years of supervised release and a maximum of life, and a $250,000 fine. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties.

Larson is a Level 2 sex offender, having been previously convicted of multiple counts of rape of a child. The case is being prosecuted by Karin M Bell, Chief of Carmen M. Ortiz's Worcester Branch Office.
