Bryan Sanchez, 40, Sentenced to 44 Months for Methamphetamine Distribution

A Fort Washakie man was sentenced to 44 months of imprisonment with three years of supervised release to follow for distribution of methamphetamine. According to court documents, in September 2023, agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) conducted a controlled purchase of approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine from Bryan Sanchez on the Wind River Reservation. Sanchez was indicted on May 16, 2024, and pleaded guilty on Sept. 16, 2024.

DCI and the FBI investigated the crime. Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy W. Gist prosecuted the case. Case No. 24-00080.

Sanchez, 40, of Fort Washakie, Wyoming, was sentenced to 44 months of imprisonment with three years of supervised release to follow for distribution of methamphetamine. The sentence was imposed on Jan. 31, in Casper.

The defendant was found guilty of distribution of methamphetamine, a federal offense. Sanchez was also charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, but those charges were dropped as part of his plea agreement.

The investigation was conducted by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy W. Gist prosecuted the case.

Case No. 24-00080. Sanchez's imprisonment will be followed by three years of supervised release. The exact date of his release is not known at this time.

Bryan Sanchez's case highlights the ongoing problem of methamphetamine distribution in Wyoming. The U.S. government has made a concerted effort to combat the spread of methamphetamine in the state.
