Cameron Felder, Nathaniel Thomas, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine, Iowa 2019
Two Illinois men have been sentenced to prison for their role in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Iowa.
Cameron Felder, 41, and Nathaniel Thomas, 37, were sentenced on July 16, 2019 by United States District Court Chief Judge John A. Jarvey for their involvement in the conspiracy.
Felder was sentenced to 70 months in prison, while Thomas received a 150-month imprisonment sentence. Both men will serve a four-year term of supervised release after their release from prison.
The investigation into the conspiracy began in August 2018, when the Iowa State Patrol conducted a traffic stop of Felder and Thomas's vehicle for speeding on I-29 in Fremont County.
During the traffic stop, the occupants of the vehicle were uncooperative and required numerous commands to shut the car doors and turn off the engine. The trooper detected the odor of burnt marijuana and recovered a baggie of marijuana from Thomas.
Further investigation led to the discovery of over 200 grams of methamphetamine in pill form in the vehicle.
The case was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol, Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
