Carlos McMillion, Oxycodone Distribution, West Virginia 2012
A Beckley, West Virginia pill dealer has been given a one-year federal prison sentence for selling oxycodone in the area.
Carlos McMillion, a 27-year-old resident of Beckley, pleaded guilty in March to distribution of oxycodone.
On November 9, 2012, McMillion sold oxycodone pills to a confidential informant working in cooperation with law enforcement authorities near Beckley.
The Beckley Police Department conducted the investigation into McMillion's illicit activities.
Assistant United States Attorney Miller Bushong handled the prosecution, and the sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Irene C. Berger.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia is committed to combating the illicit sale and misuse of prescription drugs, and this case is part of an ongoing effort to aggressively pursue and shut down illegal pill trafficking.
In a press release, U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin stated that the Office is dedicated to reducing the spread of opiate painkillers in communities across the Southern District.
