Carlton Sandoval, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Arizona 2022
Fort Defiance, Arizona - 43-year-old Carlton Sandoval was sentenced to 27 months in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. This is a serious crime that puts the community at risk.
On January 4, 2020, Sandoval was pulled over for a traffic violation near Chinle, Arizona. During the stop, officers discovered that he was in possession of a firearm. As a convicted felon, Sandoval is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
Sandoval, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, previously pleaded guilty to the crime. He is now facing the consequences of his actions.
