Martinsburg, West Virginia - A 50-year-old man has been caught red-handed in a shocking case of cocaine distribution. Cedric Eugene Galloway, a resident of Charles Town, West Virginia, has admitted to his involvement in the illicit trade.

According to a recent court hearing, Galloway pled guilty to one count of "Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base." The cocaine base, or "crack," was distributed in May 2019 in Jefferson County.

Galloway, 50, now faces up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000 if convicted. The actual sentence will be determined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account the seriousness of the offense and Galloway's prior criminal history.

The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Ranson Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

Galloway's guilty plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble in a recent court hearing.
