Wheeling Man Sentenced in Methamphetamine Distribution Case
A Wheeling man was sentenced to 12 months and one day of incarceration for his role in a drug distribution operation in the Wheeling area.
Charles Cesar Ansley, Jr., 40, of Wheeling, was sentenced today for aiding and abetting the distribution of methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a protected location.
The charges stem from Ansley's admission to selling methamphetamine near Luau Manor in Ohio County in March 2019.
Ansley, also known as “Mike,” pled guilty to one count of “Aiding and Abetting the Distribution of Methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a Protected Location” in May 2020.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing hearing.
Ansley's sentence is a result of his guilty plea in May 2020, and the case was investigated by the Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force.
The HIDTA-funded initiative worked to bring Ansley to justice for his role in the drug distribution operation.
