Charles D. Outcalt, Jr., Methamphetamine Distribution, Pennsylvania 2016
A former Scott Township man has been convicted of his role in a methamphetamine distribution scheme, federal authorities announced yesterday.
Charles D. Outcalt, Jr., age 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of violating federal narcotics laws in United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
The charges stem from Outcalt's involvement in a conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute over 5 grams of actual methamphetamine on July 29, 2016.
Outcalt's guilty plea was accepted by Judge Mark R. Hornak, who scheduled sentencing for September 14, 2018.
The law provides for a term of imprisonment of not less than 5 years and not more than 40 years, a fine of not more than $5,000,000, or both for each count.
Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Shanicka L. Kennedy is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Stowe Township Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
In this case, the law is clear: Outcalt is facing serious consequences for his role in the methamphetamine distribution scheme.
