Chauncey Slay, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Arkansas 2025
LITTLE ROCK—A North Little Rock man has been sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation, announced Jonathan D. Ross, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Chauncey Slay, 46, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kristine G. Baker to 130 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine.
Slay, a multi-convicted felon, will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
The investigation into Slay's activities began on March 6, 2024, when Lonoke County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Slay was a passenger. Officers discovered a small baggie of crystal-like substance on Slay's pant leg, which was later determined to be more than 120 grams of methamphetamine with a 98% purity level.
During the arrest, Slay became argumentative and was subsequently placed in a patrol unit. While being transported to the Lonoke County jail, Slay informed deputies that he had additional drugs on his person, which were recovered by deputies.
Slay's lengthy criminal history includes several felony drug convictions, including possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, delivery of methamphetamine, possession of heroin with purpose to deliver, and possession of fentanyl.
The investigation was conducted by the DEA with assistance from the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office. Assistant United States Attorney Lauren Eldridge prosecuted the case.
Slay was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 9, 2024, on one count of possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine. He pleaded guilty to the indictment on June 30, 2025.
