Chemere Barclay, Methamphetamine Trafficking, New York 2024

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to selling methamphetamine in a case investigated by local and federal authorities.

Chemere Barclay, 32, of Buffalo, NY, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to possession with intent to distribute, and to distribute, methamphetamine, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna M. Duncan stated that between August 17, 2023, and January 5, 2024, investigators with the New York State Police and the Lackawanna Police Department conducted seven controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Barclay.

The plea is the result of an investigation by the Lackawanna Police Department, under the direction of Chief Mark Packard, the New York State Police, under the direction of Major Stanley Edwards, and Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan.

Barclay's sentencing is scheduled for March 20, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. before Judge Arcara.

The case is a reminder of the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in Western New York.
