Christall Doris Peavy, Fentanyl Trafficking, Alabama 2024
Mobile, AL - A Florida woman has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for her role in a fentanyl trafficking operation in Alabama.
Christall Doris Peavy, 33, of Crestview, Florida, was sentenced on November 14, 2024, by United States District Court Judge Terry F. Moorer for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.
According to court documents, Peavy was stopped by a deputy with the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Office on March 8, 2023, for traffic violations on Highway 84. During the stop, Peavy admitted to having various drugs in the vehicle and the deputy searched the vehicle.
During the search, a female officer from the Evergreen Police Department performed a pat down on Peavy and discovered a large bulge in her brassiere. When the officer attempted to retrieve the item, Peavy became combative and officers had to take her into custody.
Upon further search, officers found a large plastic bag containing four smaller baggies with a powdery white substance, later identified as fentanyl, weighing approximately 132 grams. Peavy was charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.
The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Evergreen Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney George F. May.
Peavy's sentencing marks the latest in a string of arrests and convictions related to fentanyl trafficking in the region. The investigation and prosecution of Peavy serve as a reminder of the ongoing threat posed by fentanyl and other illicit substances.
