Christopher Jermaine Taylor, Heroin Conspiracy, West Virginia 2014

Heroin has ravaged the streets of Huntington, West Virginia, and now another dealer is facing justice. On an unspecified date, Christopher Jermaine Taylor, 29, of Detroit, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute heroin in the Huntington area.

Taylor admitted to conspiring with other individuals to distribute more than 100 grams of heroin from summer 2012 to February 2014. The duo arranged for the transportation of the heroin from Detroit to Huntington, utilizing residences in the area as locations to distribute the deadly substance.

According to Taylor, he and his co-conspirators agreed to provide heroin to the residents' occupants in exchange for utilizing them for the distributions. This heinous crime has left a trail of addiction and destruction in its wake, and it's time someone pays the price.

In February 2013, Taylor leased an apartment in the 600 block of 22nd St. in Huntington. In April 2013, Huntington Police Department officers seized around 23.6 grams of heroin and $7,380 from the apartment. This was just one of the many instances where Taylor's dealings were brought to light.

In February 2014, agents with the Huntington Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in Detroit. Agents located Taylor, and seized a firearm. This marked the end of Taylor's reign of terror, and now he faces the music.

Taylor faces up to 40 years in federal prison, and a $5 million fine. His sentencing is scheduled for May 4, 2015. The case is being investigated by the Huntington Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force, with Assistant United States Attorney Joseph Adams leading the prosecution.

Chief United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers presided over the plea hearing, bringing Taylor one step closer to justice.
