Donaldsonville Man Sentenced to 140 Months in Federal Prison for Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Trafficking
A 39-year-old Donaldsonville man has been sentenced to 140 months in federal prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking operation in Louisiana.
On March 13, 2020, Christopher John Scieneaux was arrested after a traffic stop revealed a small amount of narcotics in his vehicle. Further investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at his residence, where authorities found approximately 1300 grams of pure methamphetamine and 903 grams of fentanyl.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, between November 22, 2019, and January 23, 2020, Scieneaux sold heroin and fentanyl to undercover agents on three separate occasions. The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, Gonzales Police Department, and DEA conducted the investigation, which was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) program.
Seineaux's sentencing comes after he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. He will also serve five years of supervised release following his prison term.
The OCDETF program is a nationwide effort to disrupt and dismantle major drug trafficking organizations and money laundering organizations.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Internal Revenue Service, Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, and Gonzales Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Jarreau prosecuted the case.
