A South Bend man has admitted to being a major player in the methamphetamine trade, pleading guilty to possessing over 500 grams of the highly addictive substance with the intent to distribute. Christopher Kinds, 34, of South Bend, Indiana, entered the plea in United States District Court before Judge Damon Leichty, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Indiana.
The investigation into Kinds' activities began on September 5, 2019, when investigators searched his home and storage units at a rental facility in South Bend. During the search, they recovered over 2 kilograms of methamphetamine and 37 firearms. Kinds was arrested the same day and subsequently charged with possessing over 500 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.
