Convicted Bank Robber Sentenced to 69 Months in Prison

ERIE, Pa. - In a federal court sentencing, a former Gates, New York resident was handed a 69-month prison sentence for his involvement in four bank robberies. Christopher Mancuso, 43, was also ordered to make restitution of $16,370.

According to information presented to the court, Mancuso's crimes took place between 2012 and 2014. On November 6, 2012, he robbed $10,060 from the M&T Bank at 1282 Long Pond Road in Greece, New York. On December 18, 2013, he robbed $3,200 from the Chase Bank located at 3917 Lake Avenue in Rochester, New York. On January 17, 2014, Mancuso acted as the getaway driver during a robbery of Chase Bank, located at 2900 Dewey Avenue in Rochester, New York. Finally, on January 31, 2014, he again acted as the getaway driver during a robbery at First Niagara Bank located at 12 Spencerport Road in Rochester, New York.

Prior to imposing sentence, Judge Elizabeth A.Wolford noted that Mancuso was on parole during each of the four bank robberies. She also took into account Mancuso's lengthy criminal history dating back to his teenage years.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold prosecuted this case on behalf of the government. U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Gates Police Department, the Greece Police Department, and the Rochester Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Mancuso.

Mancuso's sentence is a result of his convictions for bank robbery. The crimes carried significant financial losses, with a total of $16,370 in restitution ordered.

The investigation into Mancuso's crimes was a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies in New York and Pennsylvania.
