Christopher Mayne, Pseudoephedrine Possession, Iowa 2014
A Dubuque man, Christopher Mayne, has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine manufacturing operation.
According to court documents, Mayne, 34, was involved in a fire at his residence on December 4, 2012, which was caused by his manufacturing of methamphetamine in the basement.
On March 23, 2013, police seized 180 pills of pseudoephedrine from Mayne during a traffic stop, as well as items used to manufacture methamphetamine.
Mayne later pleaded guilty to one count of possession of pseudoephedrine knowing or having reasonable cause to believe it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine on December 18, 2013.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge Linda R. Reade sentenced Mayne to 169 months' imprisonment in Cedar Rapids on April 1, 2014.
Mayne was also ordered to pay a special assessment of $100 and serve a three-year term of supervised release after his prison term.
He is currently being held in the United States Marshal's custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Lisa C. Williams and investigated by the Dubuque Drug Task Force, the Dubuque Police Department, and the Dubuque Fire Department.
