Local Man Sentenced for Methamphetamine Manufacturing

Olney, IL - In a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle against illicit substances, a man from Olney was recently sentenced to federal prison on drug charges. Christopher P. Stout, 31, of Olney, IL, has been ordered to spend the next 120 months behind bars for his involvement in methamphetamine manufacturing.

A two-count federal indictment had previously charged that Stout conspired with others to manufacture methamphetamine in Richland and Clay Counties from 2010 until January 26, 2012. He was also accused of possessing pseudoephedrine, knowing and having reasonable cause to believe that the pseudoephedrine would be used to manufacture methamphetamine, from June 2010 to May 17, 2012, in Richland County.

The investigation was a collaborative effort by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant United States Attorney George Norwood handling the case.
