Christopher Yates, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Alabama 2023
A Chicago man has been convicted of plotting to kill two witnesses in his cousin's murder trial. Christopher Yates was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder on June 29, 2023 in the Middle District of Alabama.
According to the Department of Justice, Yates sought the killings of two individuals he believed would testify against his cousin. The conviction was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Gregg Garvin and Brittany Wallace of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Alabama.
