Clive McFarlane, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Massachusetts 2020

BOSTON - A Brockton man pleaded guilty today to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Clive McFarlane, 36, pleaded guilty during a videoconference hearing before U.S. District Court Judge Allison D. Burroughs to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 30, 2020. McFarlane was charged in September 2019.

On Aug. 27, 2019, McFarlane was found in possession of a Rohm Gesellschaft .25 caliber revolver, one round of Remington .25 caliber ammunition and seven rounds of Cascade Cartridges .25 caliber ammunition.

Mcfarlane had previously been convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and other crimes punishable by more than a year in jail and therefore was prohibited from possessing firearms.

The charging statute provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000 or twice the gross gain or loss.
