BOSTON MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO ROBBING TD BANK BRANCH IN BOSTON

A Boston man has pleaded guilty to robbing a TD Bank branch in Boston. Coleman Nee, 42, entered a guilty plea to one count of bank robbery before U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani, who scheduled sentencing for March 9, 2023.

Nee was indicted by a federal grand jury in July 2021 for the April 26, 2021 robbery. According to the indictment, Nee entered the TD Bank branch in the afternoon and showed a teller what appeared to be a firearm, threatening to kill the teller and a bank customer before robbing the bank of $990. Within approximately 20 minutes of the robbery, Nee was apprehended by law enforcement due to a GPS tracker attached to one of the stolen bill packets.

The charge of bank robbery provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes which govern the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.

The case was announced by United States Attorney Rachael S. Rollins; Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Boston Division; Colonel Christopher Mason, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police; Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox; and Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Police Chief Kenneth Green. Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Sullivan Jacobus of Rollins' Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
